Invest what you want to get back.
Positive thinking by itself is not enough. You must be
willing to invest something before you can expect a return.
I lived in a rural area for five-and-a-half years. I
didn't learn much about farming, but two things I do know. I know you
reap what you sow, and you reap more than you sow.
-
If you plant
cotton, you'll get cotton.
-
If you plant
wheat, you'll get wheat.
-
If you plant
corn, you'll get corn.
-
If you plant
love, you'll get love.
-
If you plant
friendship, you'll get friendship.
-
Invest what you
want to get back.
I invest my one friendship into my home church, which
has about 4,000 members, and I get back 4,000 friends. Isn't that a fantastic
return?
Now, if when you invest cotton, you get cotton; if
when you invest wheat, you get wheat; if when you invest friendship, you get
friendship; if when you invest love, you get love; what will you get when you
invest money? Usually people freeze up on this point.
But Luke 6:38 reminds us, "Give, and it will be given
to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be
poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to
you."
Invest what you want to get back.
