Let's read the Bible together!
Our pastors and Spiritual Formation Commission want to encourage our whole church body to be in the Word of God in the coming year. When the people of God want to know more about Him and grow in faith, there is simply no substitute for simply reading God's Word. And there is no better way than to do it in the context of the body of believers.
We'd like to offer a reading program to help facilitate us being in the Word together. While there are many bible reading plans, let's use The One Year Bible reading program. Every day of the year will have a reading from the Old Testament, the New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs. A day's reading can take anywhere from 10 minutes (reading fast) to a whole day of study and reflection. We'll have nice, two-page booklet handouts that can easily be kept inside your bible with the plan for scripture reading. This plan is also available online. Also, we'll put the upcoming month's readings on the bulletin flaps in the services which can be used in your bible. Finally, our youth ministry has available The One Year Bible in both the NIV and NLT translations. These have the whole bible ordered with the same daily readings. These can also be purchased through our link to Amazon (through which the youth ministry will benefit).
God's Word is powerful. I'm certain the investment we make as the body of believers will bear an eternal profit for all who will simply but take and read.
