Rock Choir

Youth choir is a lot more than just harmonies and popular music. It is a community of high school and college age students that serve together to do one ultimate thing: worship. This year we are getting personal. The songs we’ve chosen take us on a journey, sometimes one of struggle, as we walk with Christ. Together we are creating a story of passion, by definition being: the state of being acted upon or affected by something external. We are expressing how the world affects us, how Christ affects us, and ultimately how we should affect others. For each individual, this journey looks radically different which makes the message that much more beautiful. These songs we’re singing tell not only the story of our hearts, but the story of our hands and what we have done with them, either glorifying God or not. We unite as a community to not only share Christ, but also to show Christ in our music and, more importantly, in our daily lives.

What it means to be in youth choir:
Here's what it means to be in youth choir, right from one of its members: "We’re your average high school and college age students trying to figure out the world and our place in it. Something that speaks to us is the music we're singing this year. We think its powerful and relevant. These songs remind us that there is hope, especially in those moments where hope seems a scarce and foreign commodity. They also remind us, though, that we’re all broken in some way. To pretend that we’re not is to keep putting on masks we show each other just to get through the day. We feel blessed to lean on each other. We believe that real community is open to everyone and vital for all of us. Far from perfect, we’re just on the journey, like a lot of people. We believe in a Creator who far surpasses our understanding, whose love humbles us— challenging us to love others, and him, better."
