We are excited to report that Fair Oaks Presbyterian’s outreach to the village of Chiradzulu, Malawi, Africa is becoming a reality.
Last fall, an FOPC missions’ team visited Chiradzulu and the neighboring village of Kogoya where the Fallbrook church has already built a Hope Center and implemented an adoption program. Following their report to the congregation in October, members of FOPC stepped up to the plate and enthusiastically pledged support for a similar center and adoption program in Chiradzulu.
Funding was raised to build the center as well as drill two wells for healthy, clean water for the village. The first well was drilled last fall and they hit water on the first attempt. Praise the Lord! The second well will be drilled in the near future.
In mid-April, we are sending a team out to start construction on the center. Mark Thompson and Tom Leech will be leaving to begin the building project. Bob Hart will follow in May and Tom will return stateside following Bob’s arrival. Mark and Bob will stay on into August. We hope to have the building completed by the time they return!
Another team of people will be going this fall to further the project. If things go according to plan the team will be doing some painting and landscaping at the Hope Center, taking pictures and profiles of the orphans, preparing the gardens for Farming God’s Way, showing the Jesus Film, etc.
We ask that you join us in praying for the program we are embarking on and see if God is calling on you to partner with us. We feel that God has definitely led us to this partnership but that He would not want it to be at the expense of the other ministries and missionaries that we currently support.
If you wish to become a financial partner in Project Hope you may make either a one-time donation or monthly donations which will convert to orphan sponsorship once the Hope Center is built and staffed. You can sponsor one or more orphans with a gift of $35 per month/per child.
Payments may be made payable to FOPC (mark Project Hope on the memo line) through your regular giving process as an additional donation or by separate check, if you prefer. For example, you may include it in the same envelope as your normal tithe or include it in your FOPC electronic giving. Just make sure it’s clearly designated Project Hope, Malawi on your giving envelope and the memo line of your check.
